Mylla - Oslo på ski

Jørgen, Bjarte, Tor and my self took the train for Oslo to Grua saturday morning. From Grua we took a taxi up to the start for our journey south trough Nordmarka. The conditions was epic, the weather was even better with no clouds and no wind, the temperatur was between minus 5-10 celcius. So we had a fantastic journey with the sun shining in our faces all day long. And it was a long day, the tripp was about 48 km and after about five and a half hour we was back home at Sognsvann just as the sun had fallen behind the horisont and it was starting to get dark. Days like this is almost to good to be true, and for me it can absolutly be compared to a good day og windsurfing at Kanaha. And the best part of it is that we still got almost two months left before the snow melts down and the windsurfseason starts again in Oslo.
And to morrow the weather is supposed to be just the same, for those who like to go skiing. Skiing on a sunday in Nordmarka is even more crowded than a sunday with perfect conditions at Kanaha or Jericoacoara

Finally the winter is here, after almost two weeks with cold weather and no snow this x-mas looks like it's going to be one of the most snowy ever. It has been faling down so much snow that everything except the machines who makes the ski-tracks has stopped. Trains, busses and cars have all been almost impossible to use to day. Around my car it was about half a meter with fresh snow and there was no way I could get it out from the parking lot. So I had to start skiing just outside my own door. Instead of driving or taking the buss/subway to the forrest I ended up skiing for about 45 minuttes before I was out in the forrest. Once there it was a amazing trip with incredible conditions for crosscountryskiing and magic light to take pictures in. Hope the rest of the x-mas delivers the same conditions.

Mountainbiking in Nordmarka

Odd-Steinar & I took a litle trip in to the forest on our moutainbikes to day, it was raining when we left the car but pretty soon it stopped. It was wet and slippery on the track but with great wett tiers on the bike we managed to pas all the rocks and roots. After about 2,5 hour we got back to the car smiling in the sun after a great session. The pictures are taken with my cellphone Nokia E71

Winter 2009

What a winter, the snow just won't stop falling down and it almost makes me forget waves and wind. It's just 3 months since we was in Jeri, enjoying the life of a surfbum on the beach, windsurfing everyday. At the moment I can honestly say that I don't miss it, because the conditions for crosscountryskiing is so great at the moment. I have been skiing 3-4 days every week in january and february. And with all the snow we have at the moment it looks like we will be able to keep on skiing until late april. Then I hope my new Goya Sails has arrived. Until then enjoy my pictures from a wonderful Norwegian winter.

Things to do when the wind and waves are missing

Like always in May we are strugeling with north /easterly winds in May, this means that the wind we gets is very gusty and don't give us any swell. The freeriders are having a blast but those of us who are praying for wind and waves.........well we have to be patient and hope for better days. In June it usually is a change in the wind direction witch means that the dominant wind direction is from the south witch also brings us som swell to play with.
In the meantime i take my bike and goes for a ride in the woods surrounding Oslo, here are som pictures , and if the wind doesn't materialise, there will be many more of those.
