Maui 2010 week IV

OHHH MY GOOD, this week we got some serious waves. Forget about the missing wind. All the beaches on the northshore off Maui was closed for bouth surfing and windsurfing, except for one!!!! Peahi, aka JAWS. Tormod and I was up before the sun and enjoyed the sunrise at Jaws where there only was a couple off cars who had beaten us and got there before us. We had heard the waves thundering against the reefs and beaches all a'round the northshore during the night and it was hard to get a good nights sleep. The sight that apeared it self for us when the sun was rising at Jaws was avesome. The waves came thundering inn against the reef and rose to a wall off water. Pretty soon the first team off the tow inn surfers was seen bellow us an at about half past 6 in the morning the first surfer was riding on one off the gigant waves on jaws. When we left Jaws around 12 o'clock it was totaly caos in the canefields, there where cars everywhere and even if the last surfers had left the sceene there where still a line of spectators trying to get down to the cliff's for a look. Most people prefere to drive down the slippery dirtroads trough the canefields to get down to the cliffs where you can get a close look at the waves, it takes about 30-40 minuttes to walk from the highway and down so I guess you can't blame them. But next time get up in the morning so you don't miss the show.

Maui Week IV

During the first days after Jaws the north shores beaches was more or less off limits to windsurfers due to Highsurf advisory combined with light and very gusty wind. The rain is also pooring down som most off the time I have been surfing at Launiupoko beachpark just south off Lahania. To morrow its friday and it looks like we are going to have a great weekend with nice tradewinds, hughe waves and no rain. Could bee a realy nice weekend with a lot of windsurfing action on Kanaha and maybe Kuau and Ho'okipa

Maui 2010 Week III

The third week on Maui was light on wind and light on waves I did some surfing on the other side of the island. The weeks big issue was offcourse Halloween witch took place on sunday 31st off october. Paia was a great place to be and the halloween custumes where incredible. It's just a shame the the weather was so bad that in was no pleasure to walk in the street taking pictures. But the king of the mascerade has to be the green freak for Oslo. (see pict) he was avesome and the locals was nuts about his costume.

Maui 2010 Week II

After the first week with strong winds and medium to smal waves we entered the second week with some days with light wind and big waves Ho'okipa was going off and the pros was having a blast. I sail a couple off days at Kuau and Kanaha while Tormod was grounded with a wound on his legg witch he received while sailing at Ho'okipa. When we had some time off we spent it on Ho'okipa taking pictures off the pros doing what they do best, ripping the waves. It was a realy cool thing to watch, and offcourse even the best ends up at the rocks. On one off the best days there Johs Angulo and Jason Polakow was standing out. Two days earlier when the waves where even bigger and the wind lighter we had the pleasure off watching the likes off Levi Siver, Fransisco Goya and Keith Taboule ripping . How they managed to get out trough the waves with hardly any wind is something I never can understand.

First week on Maui this year was a great week for windsurfing. We had a great time sailing at Kanaha Beachpark at the start, but after a couple off days we moved up the coast and sailed at Kuau and Ho'okipa. The weather was great and the tradewinds also helped to make this a great week. The waves could have been bigger, but since we sailed a lot at Ho'okipa we where happy that they stopped at headhigh++, since we had no desire to end up on the rocks.

At last something to write about, after a realy slow summer without much wind september looks like the month to save the season for us wind starving windsurfers. After a couple off good days at our local break Larkollen the forcast for this weekend looked realy god for the west coast of bouth Norway and Sweden. I endend up in Varberg, Sweden and had a great day on saturday. Sailing al day in Lejet where the was as good as it gets in Varberg. In the morning i used my 3,7m2, in the middel off the day the wind dropped and I used my 5,0m2. But the wind picked up again in the afternoon and I ended up sailing with my 4,4m2 before I packed up and went up to Apelviken where I took some pictures off some friends who was windsurfing into the sunset. On Sunday I got two hours with my 5,0m2 in Lejet before I went home to Oslo, a very satisfied and tired man.

Las Palmas

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria

Took a short break from the strong winds at Pozo & Vargas and went up to Las Palmas. Here the temperature was just around 25 degrees celsius, almost 8 degrees colder than further down the coast. I walked around in the old part of the city where the buliding are built around the year 1500. I visited Catedral de Santa Ana witch they started to build in 1478 when the spanish had conquested Gran Canaria. I also was at Christopher Colombus' house, witch is just across the street from the Catedral. It's a great part of the Island and a nice quite break from the rest of the Island and nothing the usuall tourists who visits Gran Canaria would expect to find on their trip to the sun and sand on the south side off the Island.

Gran Canaria 2010

Just got home from a intense 5 days tripp Gran Canaria, sailed everyday with Goya Eclipse 4,4m2 or 4,1m2 and my 78 liter Goya Customwave singelfin & a lot of IBUX to stopp the fever and cold I got just before I left Norway. No matter what, I had a great stay and sailed 50/50 Pozo/Vargas. The best conditions I had at Vargas with great waves and a lot off sideshore conditions. I also had some great waves in Pozo but not as good as Vargas. Specialy at low tide and rising, I think the conditions are great in Vargas and if the swell is above 2 meter you realy get som nice waveriding.

Once again I headed vest to the promised land. 450 km each way is a long way and takes about 7 hours, but it's worth taking the trip once in a while. Friday turned out to be a classic day at Sele, I used my 4,4m2 and in the afternoon I changed to my 5,0m, the biggest waves where about 2,5 meter and it was perfect sideshore. Saturday was supposed to be even windier but I ended up using my 5,3m2 and my 95 liters Goya Custom wave the entier day on great 2,5 meters waves. After all it was a great weekend, but I don't think I will be back next weekend......

After the great day we had on Sele saturday we drove 3 hours south to Lista to catch some waves and wind on sunday. The wind was great and I went out on my 4,4m2 Eclipse and my 84 liter Custom. I had a great time but since the waves where almost absent it didn't take of like yesterday.Here is some pictures of the morningbirds.

This weeked Tormod and I packed our car's and went for a 7 hours trip to Jæren for our first windsurfing trip this year, the conditions was like like we expected and I sailed the whole day with my new Goya Eclipse 4,1m2 and my new Goya custom singlefin 78 liter. I had a great session and loved my new gear. A huge thanks to Tormod who spent the whole day on the beach taking pictures

Ready for a new season

The snow is gone and my skies and snowboard are packed away for the next months. It's about time to bring out the realy great toys, I have a line of brand new Goya sails and one new board wich I'm dying to test at my local spot. I already had the pleasure of testing all the new Goya models when I was on Maui last october. I ended up ordering a new Goya Customwave singelfin 78 liter and a line of Goya Eclipse wavesails,(3,7-4,1-4,4-5,0-5,3m2). They all worked as a dream on all the different beaches on Maui, in all kinds of conditions, so my guess is that they will work great here in Norway as well. Then we just have to vait for some lowpreasure systems that delivers wind from the south and I off to the beach, maybee next weekend?

Mylla - Oslo på ski

Jørgen, Bjarte, Tor and my self took the train for Oslo to Grua saturday morning. From Grua we took a taxi up to the start for our journey south trough Nordmarka. The conditions was epic, the weather was even better with no clouds and no wind, the temperatur was between minus 5-10 celcius. So we had a fantastic journey with the sun shining in our faces all day long. And it was a long day, the tripp was about 48 km and after about five and a half hour we was back home at Sognsvann just as the sun had fallen behind the horisont and it was starting to get dark. Days like this is almost to good to be true, and for me it can absolutly be compared to a good day og windsurfing at Kanaha. And the best part of it is that we still got almost two months left before the snow melts down and the windsurfseason starts again in Oslo.
And to morrow the weather is supposed to be just the same, for those who like to go skiing. Skiing on a sunday in Nordmarka is even more crowded than a sunday with perfect conditions at Kanaha or Jericoacoara

Nordmarka vinteren 2010

Finally the winter is here, after almost two weeks with cold weather and no snow this x-mas looks like it's going to be one of the most snowy ever. It has been faling down so much snow that everything except the machines who makes the ski-tracks has stopped. Trains, busses and cars have all been almost impossible to use to day. Around my car it was about half a meter with fresh snow and there was no way I could get it out from the parking lot. So I had to start skiing just outside my own door. Instead of driving or taking the buss/subway to the forrest I ended up skiing for about 45 minuttes before I was out in the forrest. Once there it was a amazing trip with incredible conditions for crosscountryskiing and magic light to take pictures in. Hope the rest of the x-mas delivers the same conditions.

Cruising around in LA

On our way back from Maui we had 11 hours in LA, we rented a Ford Mustang Concertible ( at the cost of USD 181,-) and cruised around. First we went down to Seal Beach where we had breakfast at an Irish pub on Main street. Then we walked around, took some pictures and ended up at Harbour Surfboards wich is probably the worlds oldest surfshop and surfbrand, it was established in 1959 and was celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. After a couple of hours in Seal Beach we went down to Huntington Beach (aka. Surf city) to check out Jakes's Surfboards and Huntington Surf & Sport, they are probably two of the worlds biggest surfshops.

After this we cruised up Pacific Highway all the way from Huntington to Venice Beach with the cab down and the wind blowing in our hair. When we had checked out Venice Beach for a while we had to head back to LAX to get on our flight back to Europe. The flight went realy smooth for me, I guess I slept for about 8 hours of the flight, and after a short stop in Frankfurth we landed in Oslo shortly before 4 o'clock where the temperature was about 0 celsius, it seemed absolutly unreal that less than a day ago we where cruising around in LA and that it was less than two days ago that I was sailing at Hookipa.

Kanaha & Kuau today

After lunchTormod & Jørgen persuaded me to join them on Kanaha, the plan was to windsurf @ uppers. But after a short spinn up there I found out that the waves where crap and went back to the beach. Packed up my gear and headed up the coast to Kuau where there at least was sideshore waves. Managed to get about an hour out on the water and got a couple of rides. Not any big waves, but it was ok. To morrow is our last day here and it looks like we are going to get wind then as well, not any big swell but it could be a nice relaxed day at Kuau or Hookipa.

Testing Quad @ Kuau

Today it was my turn to test Goyas prototype for quad board, the boards will be released on the market in 2011 and I can promisse you all a great adventure. After about two hours in the waves outside Kuau I can definitivley say that quad's are here to stay. I can hardly wait until I can get my own back in Norway.

Had another day at Kuau today. The wind was coming straight from the east wich meant that Kuau and Hookipa was the only places working. The wind was a litle bit lighter than yesterday so Jørgen & I went out with a 5,3m2, I was on my 95 liter while Jørgen was testing a prototype for a Goya Quad at 86 liter. He was stoked about the board, but it's a shame that we will have to wait until the release of the 2011 models before we can order one. No pictures today because our photographer Tormod also went out for a while, this was Tormod's first session at Kuau and he was a happy man when he was back on the beach. Tomorrow the forcast says a litle bit more wind, still from the east, so I guess we will be sailing at Kuau again, and tomorrow I'm gona test the quad, if Jørgen let's me.....................

Hookipa on fire

Today was a great day to take out the camera and shoot some pictures. Hookipa was on fire and in very light wind 10-15 windsurfers where out ripping in the hugh waves. It was great fun to watch Keith and others doing what they like best, ripping up the waves of Hookipa. While the rest of us was sitting on the point taking pictures and wishing it was us who where out there.

Slow day at Maui

To day we had a realy slow day just cruising around without getting out on the water. In the afternoon we had a barbeque at Pavillions on Hookipa to celebrate Terjes 40th birthday. Tomorrow it looks like the northswell is coming back and if the trades holds up it looks like an interesting day on the north shore.

Despite all good advise from Tormod & my self Jørgen decided to test out Hookipa to day as well. The wind was light and we was very sure that Jørgen would have to swim in, if he didn't end up on the rocks. He proved us wrong and had a great session even if he had to work a lot with his rigg to keep the board planing and avoiding the wipeouts the would have sent him on the rocks. Instead he managed to pull of a great off the lipp. After a short tripp to Ocean4Hawaii we ended up at Sprecks where we had a great afternoon session with our 5,0m2.

Goya Norge ripping @ Hookipa

Today Jørgen & I had a great seassion at Hookipa together with Terje who had his first session at Hookipa on a windsurfer. Jørgen & I used our 5,0m2's and our biggest waveboards and managed to ripp up some waves whitout ending on the rocks. After about 90 minutes at Hookipa we packed our gear together and went down to Kanaha where we once again rigged our 5,0m2 but this time we went out on smaler boards, I was on my 85 liter custom Goya and Jørgen tested out the 78 liters Goya Custom singelfin 2008-mod. We had a great session there together with Tormod, our photographer from Hookipa, many thanks to him for beeing so patient and taking a lot of pictures of us while we where out. When Jørgen called it the day, I also tested the 78 liter singelfin and it was a great board with a lot of speed, realy looking forward to getting this as my new hardwind waveboard.

Some advise from a pro

Another day with 5,3m2 @ Kanaha, but first we stopped on Ho'okipa and got a few advise from Levi Siver about how to rigg the new Goya Eclipse 2010-mod. Tanks a lot to Levi for his tips. We considered going out there as well but even Levi thought it was a litle bit gusty and since Jørgen's biggest sail was a 5,0m2 we decided to go for Kanaha instead. Kanaha was great with steady 5,3m2 for most of the day with some waves coming in, the biggest ones maybe 1-1,5 meter high. After all we had a great day. I even got the chance to test the Goya Twinser @ 89 liter. It was an interesting experience, in the waves it felt like standing on a surfboard riding in the pocket at all time (if you liked) But in light wind I had troubles staying uppwind, once powered up it felt very loose and I'm looking forward to testing it more. Jørgen also tested the Eclipse 5,0m2 and he was very pleased with it, the only downside was that it was to small so to morrow he has borrowed a 5,3m2 from HiTech.

Trades are back

Today we finally got to rigg our windsurfing equipment again, it's been almost two weeks since Jørgen and I landed on Maui and at last we got the opportunity to test some of Goyas 2010 models. Jørgen was on a Goya Twinfin 89 liter ecowood and a 5,0m2 Eclipse. He was very pleased with the board but the sail was to smal, I was on my 5,3m2 and 95 liters custom Goya witch was just enough to have some fun, Today we sailed at Kanaha but tomorrow we are going to check out Kuau in hope of some bigger waves.

Turtles & surf on Maui

To day we started up with a photoshoot just outside our house where the turtles where playing in the sea. After that we took a 2,5 hours surf session in Paia bay, the waves where better yesterday so after a lunch at Cafe Aimes, Jørgen & I headed up to Hookipa to check out the surfing there. It was mindblowing, with some realy big bombers coming in. But that didn't seem to matter to all the surfers out there.

Today Jørgen & I got two nice surfsessions in Paia Beachpark, during the first one we was joined by Tormod in the waves and Terje who borrowed my camera and took some nice pictures. Between all the pictures he took of the surfbabes, he also managed to take some of Jørgen, Tormod & my self out in the surf trying to get some rides. Many tanks to Terje, it's nice to have some pictures of your self in the waves. As for the pictures of the babes, I guess you all have to ask mister Tuft about them, (they where realy nice)

Surfing @ Kanaha beach park

To day I had two of the longest rides on a wave in my life, Jørgen & I was out paddeling at Kanaha and I was outside the reef waiting for at nice sett of waves when a nice 2 meter (pluss) came and I was paddeling for my life to catch a ride. To my great joy I was able to get up on the board and had a loooooong ride al the way to the inside of the reef, riding the wave more or less from the channel down to the lifeguardtower. It felt like the ride would never end, but when I fell off the board I had a loooooong way to paddel before I was out side the reef again and in the right spot to catch a new wave. I managed to get another ride just lik the first one and started to paddel out for another ride. But when I finally made it to the outside I was totaly exhaused and unable to paddel hard enough to get a third wave. So instead I had to work my ass off to get back to the beach, witch took forever.

Earlier to day we took a trip to Honolua bay, witch is one of the best surfspots in the world, here we just took some pictures before heading back to Kanaha. The waves at Honolua was not to big for us but we did not go out to test them, maybe another day. It looks like we will get enough opportunitys to go surfing the next days since the tradewinds will be absent until sunday.

Desperate for wind

Have been at Maui for a week now and so far we have only been surfing. The wind is more or less absent, exept for some light breeze on last sunday (was out on my 5,3m2 without planning). To day we had some hope for some light to moderate tradewinds but they turned out to be on the very light, specially on the north shore where the waves are. We was now so desperate that we went to Kihei on the southside of Maui and had an hour or so on the water with 5,3m2 in gusty conditions.

Tomorrow and monday the forecast says 10-15 mhp, we are just crossing our fingers hoping that it will materialize in some sailable conditions, specially sinze there should be some decent waves as well.

Surfing @ Thousand peaks

To day we went surfing at the coaststrip south of Lahaina called Thousand peaks,was the name come from the fact that there are "hundreds" of different breaks down the coast. We ended up at a beach that we have surfed many times and has bouth a left & a right wave and is perfect for longboarding. Jørgen & I was the first of us to arrive and despite the fact that Jørgen already had been out surfing at Hookipa at 5.15 in the morning for several hours he joined me for an hour or so before I was exhaused. I had two great long rides before I was worn out and was stoked when i reached the beach. Meanwhile Tormod & Terje had arrived and Tormod borrowed my board and was again joined by the everlasting Jørgen for the next hour .
I think Jørgen clocked 6 hours or so on the water to day, where does he get the endurance to stay out that long?

Surfsup on Maui

At the moment we are fiveNorwegians here on Maui, Jørgen, Tormod, Martin, Terje & my self, and we are all missing the wind. Jorgen & I was out surfing at Hookipa for a short while yesterday, most of the day was spent organizing demogear from Ocean4Hawaii. Just after lunch a very keen Martin persuaded me to join him at Sprecks for some windsurfing we just forgot that a major part in windsurfing was missing, the wind. Despite our good intentions we ended up swimmiing back to the beach, meaning I was swimming while Martin to the amusement off everybody on the beach was rescued by a woman on a SUP.

Today was another day without wind, but the swell was bigger, we joined Jace who took us to Kuau where Martin went out to test a SUP in headhigh waves. (he survived)

Tormod and I went to Paia Beachpark and had a great time longboarding there.

Looks like we will be without wind for at least two more days, but the swelll is up and we are all enjoying the surfing.

Finaly back on Maui again, the flight from Oslo went smooth and we arrived on time at Kahului Int.airportm and my gear also arrived, in one pice. Tormod was there and escorted us to safely to our home for the next three weeks. Spyglass house realy lived up to it's expectations, it's a great place located right on the beach close to Paia. To day (sunday) we woke up to a rainy day but it very soon cleared up and the sun was shining again. Tormod and I was out at Kanaha for almost 2 hours with our 5,3m2 and big boards, we managed to catch some very smal waves in light tradewinds while Jørgen was at the airport picking up Terje T. who was very delayed due to some problems with getting in to the US.

One last session at Larkollen before departure

Had a great day at my local spot Larkollen to day. Just 6 days before I'm leaving Oslo for 3,5 week on Maui, the wind kicked in for a great day of 4,4m2 sailing. I had about 3 hours on the water and about half off the time it was great waves (for Larkollen). The water is getting colder and it's almost impossible to go surfing after work since it's getting dark earlier and earlier as we get closer to winter. I'm realy looking forward to join Tormod on Maui. This was possibly my last session at Larkollen this year, because when we get home from Maui it's almost winter (october 28th)

Lejet 4 september 2009

The last week has been absolutly incredible for us windsurfers in Oslo, it's been blowing almost everyday and ended to day with an epic trip på Varberg. The forcast said 17-21 m/s and we got exactly that, and more. Since the direction was s-s/v we sailed in "Lejet" . Taking a day of from work sure did pay of as I was sailing with my 3,7m2 all day, most of the time overpowered. Usually when we get conditions like this the wind dropps a bit during the day. But not to day, the wind was steady 20m/s ++ and we did get some heavy action out on the water. One of the locals even tried a double forward but overrotated it big time and almost made triple forward.

After many hours on the water Jørgen & I went home to Oslo as two very happy guys.

A great day at Larkollen

Larkollen 2009

After a summer almost without desent wind at our local break Larkollen we sent our dear friend Thomas (who is living at Larkollen) on a weekendtrip to Balticum, it payed off big time. Sunday was almost as good as Larkollen can get in the summer. I sailed for an hour with my 5.0m2 and the rest of the day with my 4,4m2. Had great time on the water but as always in the summer the waves was not as god as we like them to be. But even if some of us where missing bigger waves, there where plenty off windsurfers who couldn't care less about the waves, the place was crawling with windsurfers on every level. It looked like everbody who had a windsurfer in theire garage or anywhere else had decided to go Windsurfing at Larkollen.

In other words it was a great day for windsurfers of any level, let's just hope the next day will come sone.

Mountainbiking in Nordmarka

Odd-Steinar & I took a litle trip in to the forest on our moutainbikes to day, it was raining when we left the car but pretty soon it stopped. It was wet and slippery on the track but with great wett tiers on the bike we managed to pas all the rocks and roots. After about 2,5 hour we got back to the car smiling in the sun after a great session. The pictures are taken with my cellphone Nokia E71

Jørgen, Terje and my self took the opportunity to get some action on the water to day and went out with Jørgens boat to ride some wake. Terje was ripping on a wakesurfboard and Jørgen on a wakeboard. They both was charging and I managed to get some nice shoots off them.

Orrestranden, Stavanger

Late in september 2004 Jørgen, Pekka and my self took a weekendtrip to Stavanger. The plan was to sail at Refsnes or Orrestranden on friday and saturday. We was revarded with two epic days of sideshore conditions with great waves and wind. The waves was hughe and the wind was plenty enough to sail 4,2m2 for me. I even managed to take som pictures and shoot two movies during the weekend, the pictures was taken with an old "non-digitaly" camera and I just found the pictures and scanned them.

Blown away at Larkollen

Jørgen, Pekka & my self was waiting patient for the wind to arrive at Larkollen yesterday, and we was rewarded with a great session at "smørbrød". We sailed with 4,4m2 and got a litle taste off how good it could be out there. And yes it was sideshore, but we always had the feeling that the wind & waves was almost ready to go off but they just wouldn't let go. So in the end we went back to the beach only to find out that the wind realy kicked inn as we was almost in at the beach. I sail a couple off rounds at "Hvalen" but pretty soon my sail was to big to handle and I went back to the beach. Considered going out with my 3,7m2 but it was getting darker every minute so I dropped it. One off the guys messured the wind to steady 21 m/s just after we had rigged down.

After a night in my van that was shaking in the wind all night we got out off our sleepingbags around 04.30 this morning, time to get up an rigg. Tried to get out on the water with my 3,7m2 around 05.15 but it was blowing much more than the 21 m/s we meassured yesterday night. I was totaly overpowered even in the shelter off the forrest. I managed to get out on the water but couldn't even get out of the bay due to the nukin wind. After a while I dropped it and decided to rigg down and go to work.

Jørgen, Tormod and my self took the looong drive from Oslo to Lista on friday and scored bigtime on saturday. After a slow start of the day the wind and waves picked up around 2 o'clock. I sailed with my 5,0m2 and 84 liter waveboard and had a great time out in the waves, as usual "Pisserenna" delivered sideshore conditions and for a litle while even sideoff. We even got time to take some pictures, at the moment I have only got hold on my own pictures but I hope that Tormod will allow me to use some off his pictures on my webalbum since many off them are off my self sailing.

Finaly some wind in July

It's been a loooooong time since we had any good conditions at Larkollen, but to day we got lucky and had a great a time. Some of my friends was out on the water about 2 o'clock sailing 4,7m2 to 5,3m2.
When I arrived about 4 o'clock I rigged my 5,0m2, took my 84 liters waveboard and had almost two hours of great sailing in my shorty. As predicted the wind dropped around 6 o'clock but it dropped a lot quicker than we expected, so many of the guys ended up swimming back to the beach. When Jørgen got back on the beach as the last guy after a looooong swim, your could sort your stampcollection on the beach.

Took a 5 days trip to Pozo the week before the worldcup and had a great time, sailing 4,4m2 everyday. There was some pretty serious action out on the water since the worldcup sailors where training for the competition this week. One of the highlight has to be the double forward by Victor Lopez that I managed to get pictures of.

Waiting for wind in Varberg

This weekend I took a roadtrip to Varberg. I knew that Lista would be a bether bet but I had to pick up two masts with a friend in Stenungsund. That meant that Lista was out of the question.

In Varberg we woke up to no wind and some rain on saturday, the rain disapeared, but the wind didn't show up. Some of my friends went out kiting, while I rigged my 5,3m2 and waited......and waited,

After I while I grabbed my gear and went out just to get in the water.

Sunday started almost without wind and the kiters had a blast, while I was waiting and waiting and........and at last the wind came. In the end I got a great session in Lejet with my new Goya wave 5,3m2 and my 95 l waveboard. After apprx. 3 ,5 hour of sailing I packed up and went home to Oslo as a happy man,

Another nukin day at Larkollen & the CL-Final

Last wedensday we had another great day at Larkollen. It was blowing cats & dogs and we also got some desent waves, if you can enjoy onshore conditions. I also got to test my new Goya W3D 4,4m2 and even without a perfect mast they fealt great, looking forward to test the other sails as well.
After almost 4 hours on the water we headed back to Oslo and was looking forward to watching the Champions League final between ManUtd and Barca. I had taped the match so we was able to watch it "live", it started great but ended with a nightmare about 2 o'clock in the night. Thank god we didn't drop the sailing to watch the match live.

What a kickoff

Finaly the seasson was kicked off with two great days at Larkollen, I had at soft start last saturday but the wind was so light that it hardly could count as a good surfsession. This weekend how ever delivered the goods, and plenty off it. Some off my friends even managed to get a deasent session on thursday while I was stuck at work. But with two days of 4,4m2 sailing I got plenty off quality sailing during friday afternoon and entire saturday. We got some good onshore waves on friday and was very pleased with that. On saturday the win was more or less the same but the was where missing until the wind increased in the afternoon. I rigged my 3,7m2 and we had two great hours in the afternoon with some great conditions, the waves was great for Larkollen and those of us who was out enjoying them had a blast, jumping and "riding" until our arms couldn't take any more. Many thanks to Greg who took time off the water to shoot some pictures off us from the beach.

Winter 2009

What a winter, the snow just won't stop falling down and it almost makes me forget waves and wind. It's just 3 months since we was in Jeri, enjoying the life of a surfbum on the beach, windsurfing everyday. At the moment I can honestly say that I don't miss it, because the conditions for crosscountryskiing is so great at the moment. I have been skiing 3-4 days every week in january and february. And with all the snow we have at the moment it looks like we will be able to keep on skiing until late april. Then I hope my new Goya Sails has arrived. Until then enjoy my pictures from a wonderful Norwegian winter.

Leaving Jeri

After more than two weeks in paradise, it's time to pack our gear and leave for home. Transport to Fortaleza can be arranged in many different ways. If you don't take a chopper you will have to drive over dunes of sand, roads who dissapear when it't high tide and regular dirtroads. We had booked a Rang Rover, thank God for that. The local buss was more suited as a tourist attraction than transport to Fortaleza witch is over 5 hours south of Jeri.After 5 hours drive, the flight home went smooth but it was a realy shock to land in Oslo in ice cold zero degrees, it was about 30-35 degrees when we left Jeri.

Show at Mama Africa

We had a great night at a local night club called "Mama Africa" where some local group were performing a great show, starting at 1 o'clock in the night. Mama Africa is a nightclub in Jeri. Located in the midle of nowhere in a city in the midle of nowhere. The locals says just go from the mainstreet against the sand dunes, just about when you think you are lost, then you will start hearing music, and there it is. In the midle of nowhere.

Beach buggy to the lagoons around Jeri

Thuesday we booked a taxibuggy for a tour to some of the lagoons in the sand dunes surrounding Jeri. It is realy inexpencive to rent a beach buggy, for about 4-5 hours it cost us 140 Reals plus tips. (about 420 NOK). I Took a lot of pictures and you will soon find them in my webalbum. I'm having network problems here in Jeri but I hope the pictures will be out there soon. The sailing is still the same, steady 4,4m2 but the waves are not as big as they ususally are here according to those who knows. So far we have been sailing every day expect

Have now been sailing everyday since we arrived, the wind has been steady 4,4m2 for the last couple of days, but the waves are not the size I'm used to from Maui. But the good part is that there are some breakes next to the huge sand dune where the waves are about 0,5-1 meter, not bigg but they are soooo looooong. Must have taken at least 20 bottomturns and cutbacks everytime I took a ride on one of them.

Are having a slow day in Jeri today, was at great party last night. First at a beachbar and later on at "Mama Africa", it's hard to describe but it was on H#&%2 off a reaggea and salsa party witch just never seemed to stop. I left at 3.30 but it looked like it would keep on until sunset or longer.

To day it is again 5,0m2 but the tide is so low that I would have had to carry my gear for several hundred meters down the beach to reach the water. So I decided to chill at the pool update my blogg and go for an afternoon surf when the tide has turned and brought some waves. Tor is already out sailing, he was pretty stoked when he got a new boom yesterday. Guess its about time to get som lunch and then go sailing...And to night the party goes on.

Sideshore 5,3m2 to 5,0m2

Have been in Jeri for five days now and have been sailing everyday. The conditions are more or less as expected but the wind is a litle bit lighter than expected. So far it has been great, maybe a litle bit to hot, even sailing in a rashguard is to hot. The water has absolutly no cooling effect and when the air temp is in the high 30's. It gets kind of hot pumping the sail to catch the waves. Out on the water it is crowded, but there is one surfer we are missing. Tor broke his mast on the first day and so far has not been able to replace it. Spare parts are hard to find here but he has finaly located a Gaastra mast in Brasilia and will probably order it tomorrow, lets hope it gets here before we leave in 10 days.

At last we are her, in the promised land. The road to Jeri was rater long and winding and I am pretty sure we would have been lost if we had taken our own car. When had booked a Range Rover with a drive to take us the 5 hours from Fortaleza to Jeri, and tank good for that. Don´t think we would have made it out of Fortaleza on our own. Finaly in Jeri it look almost to good to be true nut it is actually even better. The atmosphere is one of a kind and the weather is even better. 28-29 degrees in the water and 30-35 in the air. So fare we have only used our biggest sails 5,3m2 but I have sailed every day in perfect sideshore conditions with waves from 2-4 feet, nothing extrem but the wind is suposed to pic up pretty soon and then the wave will be bigger.
Friday and saturday was "partytime" in Jeri, with concerts etc. on saturday it was about 8-10.000 people out on the beach here in the midle of nowhere. Dancing to live reggea and salsa music, the party went on until 6 o'clock in the morning, and the good part is that there was no fuss and no police, everybody just had a very good time. Specialy Boyd and Tor who enjoyed theire caprinia's at the price of 10,-NOK.

Ohaaaa, what a day! Larkollen was fiering on all sylinders to day, after waring up for one hour with 4,1m2, it realy took off. I rigged my 3,7m2 and went out again. After a while there where only four off us left out there, Bjørn, Pekke, Paul and my self. Everyboyd else was blown out off the water. But those off us who was left had a blast as the waves picked up and we actually ended up getting some nice rideable waves between the whale and our shelter behind Denmark. When I finally was excaused I grabbed my camera and took some pictures off Pekka and Bjørn who was riding sideshore just outside the beach. All the pictures from "the whale" was taken my Boyd,

Everything was to big

What a day! Took a day off from work to enjoy a great day on the water. Jørgen and I went to Larkollen and we had a great day with only on problem, everything was to big. I used my 78 liter board with a 8,75 fin and a 4,1m2 sail. After an hour with a couple of backloop attemts I had to go inn and rigg my new 3,7m2. After about half an hour, even this sail got to big. And pretty soon even the board and fin seamed to big. Despite this we just kept on sailing, but the backloop attemts was dropped after a couple realy nasty attemts. It looks like the rest off the week also will be pretty windy. Looking forward to it.

Two days with 5,0m2

Had a great weekend with two day of 5,0m2 sailing at home. Friday I took of early from work and went to Larkollen. Had a great hour and a half playing in the onshore waves until the wind dropped just as it got dark around 7 o'clock.
On saturday Jørgen and I went to Hvaler and checked out a spot called Ørekroken. Nothing much to write about, so we went to another spot called Brattestø. Her the wind picked ut and pretty soon it was great 5,0m2 conditions. We cruised out to an Island called Akerøya and had a great time sailing in side/on waves with the biggest waves around 2 meters. But it's a long way back to the beach, especially with a broken mastfoot. Going out trough the waves I got wiped out when a wave was breaking right into my face. The mast extention broke clear off andI was swimming in the waves. After about 30 minuttes I managed to rigg up again, but missing about 30 cm downhaul made it a loooooong way back in to the beach

Lejet i Varberg III

Varberg almost became norwegian this weekend. When the forcast promissed a lot of wind, many of us cruised down the E6 to Varberg. But hardly anyone could imagin that we would get this much wind. Saturday was great for most of us, we sailed in Lejet and I used my 5,0m2, but would probably have been more happy with my 5,3m2.

Saturday night it was blowing cats and dogs (max.32m/s) and the waves where getting big out in Katetgat. When we came down to the beach around 8.30 it was down to "only" 17-21m/s. I went and took some pictures, but since it was rain buckets I decided to drop this project and change from my soaking wet jeans to a wetsuite and rigged the smalest sail I had (4,1m2) It was way to big, but I had a great time in the 3+ meters waves, until the wind dropped from 17 to 0 m/s in two seconds and I ended up swimming in for the second time in two days.

Varberg again

After many weeks without any realy good conditions, it looked lik this weekend finaly would deliver some serious action. Tormod and my self decided to join Paul in Varberg . That decicion did cost us a great day at our homebreak Larkollen on saturday,.While we where sitting on the beach in Lejet enjoying the great weather (without wind) our friends at Larkollen was cruising around with 4,7m2. But we got a great steak and lobster at John's in the afternoon and when we left the restaurant around midnight it was blowing cats and dogs. We got up realy early on sundag morning (aprx. 7,45 ) only to find out that it already was pretty busy out on the water in Apelviken. I rigged my 5,3m2, took my 95 liter board and had a great session from 8,15 until 10.30, when it was time for a late breakfast. After couple of hours on the beach taking some pictures of Tormod and Paul ,I had another session with the same equipment, and even had to switch to a smaler board when the wind picked up. But al good things has to end, including the wind. After an hour and half the wind got gusty before it dropped and it was time to pack up and go home.

Then it's confirmed, november 6th we are leaving Oslo, destination is Jericoacoara in Brazil. Here (Tor, Boyd and my self) will spend 16 days in what many consider to be one off the best windsurfingplaces in the world. Well we are about to find out. Between us we have visited, Maui, Gran Canaria, Cabo Verde, Western-Australia, South-Africa and many other places so I think we got something to compare with.

Thunder & lightening on Larkollen

We got two more days of sailing on Larkollen this week. Monday afternoon I sail with my 5,3m2 for a couple of hours in a lot of chop. But the weather was nice.

On wedensday we had a lot of rain with thunder & lightening striking close by just as I arrived. The thunder disapeard after a couple of big bangs and the sun started shining again, for a while............ The wind and waves where a lot better and I sailed with my 5,0m2 until it started raining again for a short while. After a couple of minutes on the beach, the sun and wind came back and so the evening went on. Wind, sun and rain, over and over again until I packed up my gear about 8.30. Offcourse in pouring rain.

Great day in Varberg

Jørgen, Thomas and my self went for a weekend tripp to Varberg in Sweden, just about 430 km south of Oslo. The forcast promissed 10 m/s from west and sunny weather on saturday.

And we hit the jackpot with almost 5 hours of delicius 5,3m2 sailing in the waves in one of our favourite beaches in Scandinavia. In the afternoon we had a classic meal at our favourite restaurant in Varberg, John's Place, located in the Apelbay.

Sunday delivered only a lot of rain with some wind, the promissed 11-14 m/s never arrived while we where there. We left around 2 o'clock and I'm pretty sure the wind arrived 15 minuttes later, as usually

Backloops on the forth day in Pozo

Another day whit great conditions i Pozo, sailed 4,4m2 all day and was woorking real hard on nailing my first backloop in years. I have to admitt that it helps a lot to know that someone on the beach is watching you trough a camera lens, ever heard of "Kodakcourage"?. To morrow is my last day here, leaving for the airport at 12.30, but are planing on a last session after breakfast. Maybee I will nail it 100% this time. To day I just missed the landing by a few centimeters.

Take off on the third day in Pozo

To day we had to go down a size in sails due to the strong wind. For me that meant 4,1m2 which is my smalest sail, lucky enough it was smal enough for me even many was using sails as small as 3,2m2. This meant that had pretty good lift in my jumps and that I honestly can say that I know how it feels to jump from 10 meters with a windsurfer. My advise is to land tail first and hold your breat. What ever you do try to avoid flatt landings, they hurt.........and can break your board. I managed to land most of my jumps safely in bouth my sessions to day. The first session was the best and thats when the pictures of me where taken. During the second session the wind had dropped a bitt but it was still enough for my 4,1m2.

Second day in Pozo

Another day with great conditions, sail 4,4m2 all day but maybe I should have switched to my 4,1m2 during my first session. In the afternoon it was perfect using 4,4m2 and the waves where better. Many thanks to Pauls betterhalf who was patient enough to take almost 300 pictures of us during our first session. Some of the pictures are already awailable in my webalbum. To morrow looks like another great day with at least 4,4m2 sailing.

Pozo 2008

First day in Pozo

Arrived Gran Canaria at 2 o'clock local time and went stright to Pozo. Got my Hostel and car organized and got a great Spagiti Carbonara at "la vienta". Relaxed a litle bitt and hit the water around 6 o'clock. After one and a half hour sailing 4,4m2 and my 78 liter I packed up my gear and took some pictures of Vegard who just arrived from Mauritzius. Looks like the wind will pick up again to morrow.

To morrow saturday, I'm going to Gran Canaria to spend 5 days in Pozo. My friend Paul is already down there, enjoying the wind and waves. If the wind delivers as it's supposed to do in July, it will be a great weekend pluss three days before I leave on wedensday after lunch.

A classic july day at Larkollen

I arrived at the parking at Larkollen around 12 o'clock on sunday, the wind was already steady and I rigged my 5,7m2, grabbed my 95 liter and went for at test run. Only to find out that it was to big, went stright inn to the beach and switched to my 5,3m2 and 84 liter board. Had a great day and sailed for about 5 hours sometimes overpowered. After a short rest and some food, I grabbed my camera and took some pictures when Thomas went out for a ride in the afternoon.

After a couple of days with surfing back at our local beach Larkollen, the hunger for better waves needed to be cured. The cure was found for some of us at Lejet in Varberg where saturday june 21st delivered another great day. Tormod, Thomas, Mathias, Runar and my self drove the 450 km to Varberg on friday afternoon and woke up in Varberg saturday morning to sun and wind. In the morning i sailed with my 5,0m2 and after lunch I had to rigg down and use my 4,4m2, the waves where also better during my second session. After totaly 4-4,5 hour on the water I was worn out and had to take the rest of the day off, I was tempted to go for an afternoon session in Apelviken but in the end I decided to save my strength for another day. After all it had been a great day, just check out the pictures.

Super thuesday in Varberg

At last we got a classic north/west day in Varberg, Sweden. Even if it was on a thuesday, many desperate norwegian windsurfers took a day of from work to get a day of perfect conditions in the bay in Treslövslejet. Paul, Runar, Tormod, Håkon, Ole Petter and my self where some of the lucky surfers who drove 860 km for a day of wind, waves and sun. After about four hours out in the waves I was hungry, exhaust and very pleased with my self for taking a day of from work. I was absolutly worth the drive, even if I almost lost one of the front wheels on my car driving home.

Sunday june 8th we finaly got some decent southwest wind and had a great day at Larkollen sailing 5,7m2 and also 5.3m2 in 22 degress water and airtemp close to 30C, what more could we ask for? Maybe a litle bit stronger wind?
I heard that some friends who was saling further south on the coast was using smaler sails, but we had a good time at Larkollen and ended it with a great barbeque on the beach after the wind had dropped.

New boom?

I dropped by one of Oslo's windsurfingshops, Lilleby which is run by my friend Kjell. He had just got a new boom into his shop and I dropped in to check it out. But even if it has been a very long time since i rigged my gear due to the lack of wind I do belive that the boom that I used last time I sailed maybe was a few year newer than this one.

Things to do when the wind and waves are missing

Like always in May we are strugeling with north /easterly winds in May, this means that the wind we gets is very gusty and don't give us any swell. The freeriders are having a blast but those of us who are praying for wind and waves.........well we have to be patient and hope for better days. In June it usually is a change in the wind direction witch means that the dominant wind direction is from the south witch also brings us som swell to play with.
In the meantime i take my bike and goes for a ride in the woods surrounding Oslo, here are som pictures , and if the wind doesn't materialise, there will be many more of those.

Went to Norefjell on saturday and had a great day snowboarding in the powder. Spent most of the day cruising around in the offpiste area at Bøsæter in a lot of powder. And during the day it started to snow more. Looks like it's going to come a lot of snow next week, at least up in the mountains.

Last weekend I went to Hemsedal with some friends on saturday night to enjoy a day of powder on my snowboard. We had a great day with lots of fresh powder, maybe over half a meter. Forgot to bring my camera so you just have to imagine. We tested out the offpist area called Gummiskogen or in english rubberforrest, and had a realy great run. At the end I was totaly excausted since it for me was a to many trees and and to much snow. Either way it was a great day.

Finally home in Norway again after a looooong trip home from Maui. I can't say that I was impressed by the weather when we landed this morning. Fogg, wind, rain and temperature about 8 degrees was what met us when we got off the plane. Actually it was so windy that many of my friends was going out windsurfing, they claim that the conditions haven't been this good since Tormod and I left three weeks ago. Tormod and I was not tempted to join them, it tempted more to crush on the sofa in the appartment. The best news for us to day was that all our gear got safely home to Norway with us, boards sails etc. all arrived in time and whitout any damage to Gardemoen.

Got some sailing at uppers the last day

The last day in paradise and once again we went to Kanaha. It was windy so I rigged my 4,4m2 and went to Uppers since it was totaly flat on Lower. Got almost two hours with great sailing before it was time to pack up and head to the airport for check inn. At the airport we where lucky, all our bags weighed below 50 pounds and was axcepted for transport after a fee off 340 USD, this was for three boards so I guess we where lucky. At the moment we are in Frankfurth waiting for our flight to Oslo, lets hope that all our gear comes home intact.

Windy, windy, windy and waves on Kanaha

Pozo or Kanaha? The strength of the wind gave me a flashback to Pozo, but since we had perfect logohigh sideshore waves Pozo was out off the picture. Kanaha isn't that bad either! Sailed with my 4,4m2 and 84 liter waveboard using a 20,5 fin and had a great time "ripping" the waves. Didn't get off the water before 5.30 when the wind started to dropp.
I know that there where a lot of people complaining about the gusty wind but I guess my timing on the water was lucky because I had a blast most of the time.
Tested some new angels for my videocam mounted bouth on the boom (leward going in) and also attached to the mast just above the boom. Check this place for a video to be launched soon

To morrow is our last day and it looks like another day with wind & waves, guess we will be pretty exhausted when we leave Maui in the evening.

Kanaha once again, then up to Ho'okipa

To day we sailed once more at Kanaha in gorgeous conditions, used my 5,0m2 but after only 2,5 hour we was exhausted and went to Subway for lunch.
The first hour at Kanaha I sailed with a headcam, but as you can see on the attaced video, it's not easy to get good shots when the camera just keep on bounsing up and down

After lunch we decided to head up to Ho'okipa to check out the action. Ho'okipa was "going off", when we arrived Naish, Polakow and probably many other off the top guns where rigging down, but there where still plenty off action going on. Francisco was out testing some new gear, and I have to admit. His bottomturns are something else, even better than mine...... Just check out some off the pictures I took.

Once again we where blessed with lots of wind and wounderfull waves at Kanaha, sailed with my 5,0m2 and had a blast in the waves at Lowers. Average size where head to logo and for the first hour or so there where plenty of room on every wave and it was just to grab all the waves I possibly could get on to and rip the appart. Averaging5-6 bottomturns on the waves gets you realy stoked. For the first hour I tested my new camera but I have to admit it ended with a lot of video off a clear blue sky. To morrow I will test it mounted to a helmet and hope for better luck.
After to long sessions in the waves I hit the beach for the last time of the day around 5.30 totally exhausted. After this it was time for refueling with some food so we went to Paia and got a huge steak at Milagros. Anohter day in paradise almost done and as it looks now we will have wind and waves for the remaining 3 days on Maui, thursday and friday even promisses "high surf" so at the moment it doesn't look like we will be boored the last days either.

Chilling at Kanaha

No waves and no wind to day. We went to Kanaha and chilled on the beach for a couple off hours before we went to pick up Tormod's boom at Hawaiian Island surf & sport. I also managed to spend som money to day when I bought a digitaly waterproof videocamera witch should be fun to test when the waves arrives later in the week.

Tour d' Paia

Paia

After a great day in the water and on the beach we prettended to be tourists and took some pictures in Paia. This is where we have found most of our favourite restaurants, like Jaques, Paia fishmarket, Cafe Mambo, Cafe Aimes, Milagros and of course the fantastic foodstore Mana Foods. In this litle town you meet all kinds of people, and the majoroty is surfers and windsurfers, but you also run into hippies who still think think that woodstock was last week.

Surfing at Kanaha and boggieboard in Paia

Sunday morning and no wind. We borrowed some Quatro longboards from Lalo and went to Kanaha for a great session in the waves. The paddel out at Kanaha is a test of endurance but the award is a wounderfull natur experience. Sitting out there with about 20 other surfers from all over the world, and off course some locals is just someting you don't want to miss. There is also a growing numbers of standup padlers, but so far it is not a problem. Spent almost two hours in the break and was lucky to get some nice rides. And a good advise, save some strength to your paddel in to the beach, it's a long, long paddel.

Superlight Kanaha

When we arrived at Kanaha to day it was very clear that the rule was go big or go home. Go home was not an option since the waves looked pretty cool. I rigged my 5,3m2 and took my big waveboard, Tormod took his bathingtowel and chilled on the beach since his board was to small.
Going out it felt like beeing at Punta Preta, big glasy waves and hardly any wind. Managed to float my way out trough the channel and sometimes over the waves but was hardly ever planning on my way out. Once outside it was just to pick a wave and enjoy a realy smooth ride on the waves. Some of the waves where actually the biggest we have seen so far. After almost two hours it was time to hit the beach . On the beach I met Pascal and Ronald, they also wanted to get some action and went out. But after one ride each the wind died and they almost had to swim to the beach.

Had another great day at Kanaha to day, started off with 5,om2 but had to rigg dow to 4,4m2 pretty quick and had two hours off sailing in waves at about 2-6 feet. The waves where about the same as yesterday, but it was longer between the realy good once.
After lunch I rigged my 5,om2 once again and had another two hours before the waves dropped and sinze my strengt also dropped at the same time it was one happy surfer who hit the beach after another day in paradise.

Epic Kanaha

Once again Kanaha delivered the goods. A nice swell at 2-5 feet was rolling in all day long and the wind was steady 10-15 mph witch made it a great day to realy test my small Goya at 84 liters in down the line surf with my 5,3m2. If I wanted to I could have used my 5,0m2 as well but it's nice to have a litle extra power. After lunch the wind dropped a litle bit so I decided to take my 95 liter Goya and ended the day with another great session in the waves. A huge tank to Tormod for the pictures.

Smooth sailing at Kanaha

Once again we ended up at Kanaha where the wind was very light when we arrived in the morning. We took off and did some shopping, grabbed lunch and went back ater a couple off hours. The wind was still to light so we just chilled on the beach, waiting for the wind to pick up. And about 3.30 it did, rigged my 5,3m2 took my big waveboard and went out for an hour and a half with light wind wavesailing. The waves where about 1-1,5 meter and I had great time ripping down the line at lower Kanaha.

Kanaha 17102007

To day the north shore off Maui got hit by the first winterswell for the seasson, the forcast said 2-5 feet and as we hoped, we got our best day of sailing so far. We sailed at Kanaha, I used my 5,3m2 and big waveboard, before lunch the wind was very light and I was only planing when riding the waves. The biggest waves where about 2 meters and extremly smooth and glasy. After lunch the wind picked up a litle bitt and it was full power almost all the time. Got some realy great rides and was realy stoked when I hit the beach for the last time of the day around 5 o'clock.

We had dinner at Jaques in Paia when Kai and Kyle dropped by and joined us. They had been on Ho'okipa and was upset by the fact that the windsurfers who went out got their gear confiscated by the Rangers and was ordered to meet in court. The reason was that there had been to many surfers out, but according to Kai the surfers had gone out after the windsurfers even though it was blowing plenty.

Bump & jump at Sprecks

After our tour at Twin Falls, we went to Sprecks for some bump & jump sailing. The swell have not found the way to Maui's northshore this fall, so we have to enjoy what we have. Sailed a couple of hours with my 5,3m2, but in the end I had to rigg down to my 5,0m2 and had a nother hour with great jumps and some photoshoots from the water. About 4.30 we packed up and went to Jaques in Paia for a New York Steak, after at hard day at the office........

And when we talk about waves, Lalo is talking about some swell coming in to morrow, I guess we will have to wait and see.......

Twin Falls

The day started kind of slow with tour to Twin Falls just 5 minutes drive away from our house. Twin Falls is one of Maui's many waterfall and there is a nice hike through the "jungel" to get to it, the entire trip took us about an hour.

Sprecks v.s. Kanaha

We took a litle tripp down to Kihei to day, looking for a Bikeshop but couldn't find it and returned to the north shore only to find that the wind had picked up. We went to Kanaha, rigged 5,0m2 and sailed up to Uppers sinze it where no waves on lowers. Here the conditions where far from good. So after an hour sailing overpowered in crappy chop we decided to pack up and drove up to Sprecks. Once again I rigged my 5,0m2, the wind was gusty like it had been on Uppers but the waves where actually pretty good considering there where hardly any swell at all. I managede to get some bottomturns and cutbacks, but as usually sprecks is first of all a great place for jumping. After all it was a great session witch ended apprx at 4.3o when the wind dropped.

Iao Walley

After yesterdays party at our house where a lot of Maui's best surfers and windsurfers dropped by we had a slow start this morning. Yesterday we also did some shopping and we started this day up finishing what we didn't accomplished yesterday. After that we took a tripp into the Iao Walley and practiced beeing tourists.
